I found another really cool anime character creator but it only works on Internet Explorer.  It’s called Mabinogi Character Creator.  Makes male and female characters.  You can set them in animated poses too.  Anyway, for fun I made my standard “me as a teen” look:

Cute, huh?  I thought it was kinda neat….  Here’s the same character sitting:

Pretty cool.

Anyway, gonna try and watch more D.Gray Man today.  Hard to get past the female voice on Allen Walker though….

AAK! I made another one….

I know! I know!  I should be doing something more constructive, but I’m having to sit with Max in the living room while the kids are gone and I can’t do anything while I’m playing the hand-me game, so what the heck, right?  Besides, it’s cuter than the last one I made!

You are the depressed/dreamer anime girl. You either lost somebody you love or somebody broke you heart so bad that you can’t pick up the shattered pieces without hurting yourself. You think nobody can heal your wounds but don’t stop looking because you never know who loves you enough to try hell the one special guy could be right infront of your eyes and you don’t even know it.You also love to day dream because it seems like the only place that makes you happy. But little do you know that people all around you are trying to make you happy and you won’t let them in fearing you’ll get another heartbreak or get hurt worse. But just try and if things go wrong just brush it off and try again. It never hurts to try.One more thing never let that lost love one leave you heart keep them in forever and keep their memory alive.

7941 other people got this result! That’s 21%

I’d probably rewrite the description a bit, but I love the dress and the wings. (I’d prefer the wings to be black though…) Otherwise, cool.  You can do the quiz yourself: here.  (Girls only, it says.)

And yet somehow it’s still cuter than me.

I put this together on a website called tektek.org a little while ago just for fun.  As usual I’m not creative when it comes to myself.  I used the same boring hair, same glasses, same eyes, etc.  But I did add cool wings!  Yay!

I didn’t know about these….

In Saiunkoku Monogatari Shurei brews a special flowering tea for Seiran.  I thought it might be fun to see if such a thing exists and it does.  Now I’d love to try some!  I went to Amazon and picked out a nice blooming tea gift set there to add to my humongous wishlist.  It has nine different kinds and a tiny pot to steep them in.  It’s kind of a silly thing I’ll probably never get, but it’s neat to know it’s real.  The kind I really want to try I also added to my wishlist at Amazon, but it’s not an Amazon product so it won’t show on my little box there in the sidebar.  Lately that stupid sidebar widget thing hasn’t been working at all anyway.

Anyway, it’s cool to find things you didn’t know existed.  Maybe the rest of the world knew, but I didn’t, so…

If only I were young again, I would SO be into Cosplay…..  It’s just like back when we used to dress like our favorite rock stars in the eighties.  I even dressed as a vampire when I went to see “Interview with the Vampire” at the movie theater and I was already way past my fleeting youthful beauty by then.  *sigh*  Oh, to be young and thin and have disposable income again….

(Found on the internet: A cosplay photo on the left from Kuroshitsuji next to the original….)

Hey, check this out!

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

This is what the name “Bonnie” looks like in Japanese:

Bonnie

It is pronounced “BONII“. (Consonants are pronounced more or less the same way as in English. “I” sounds like ee in meet, but shorter. “O” sounds like o in old. Double vowels like “II” are held for twice the duration of single vowels.)

I have this little box on my sidebar there that shows first grade Kanji and every time I come to the site I click to see what it means.  And very very slowly, without much trying, I’m starting to recognize these characters.  (For instance, I saw “forest” today and realized it looks like three “tree” characters together, and “woods” looks like two of the same characters together.)    I also read a very interesting site about the differences between Japanese and English and how monumentally difficult learning each vastly different language really is.  I would have to have been born there or learned it as I grew up to be able to understand it it’s so vastly complex.  I realize even using proper English is shockingly more casual than the honorific or formal Japanese is.  (And exalted Japanese is even more polite and strict!)   There’s no way I’ll ever absorb all of that and be able to use it, so I guess I’ll stick with just learning a little Kanji.

I thought learning German was hard.

I actually failed German class back in the day, but some of it I still say today just for fun.  We actually say a little Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanish and German in this house because we all learned different languages in school.  Ian: French, Cliff: Spanish, Me: German, I forget if Marjorie learned French or Spanish, and we all picked up a tiny bit of Chinese and Japanese over the years too.  It’s fun if you know a word in a different language that fits what’s you’re about to say.  I count in German or Spanish a lot just for fun. Marjorie answers the phone “konichiwa”, and I’ve been known to say “ni hao” and “xie xie” around the house.

Anyway, I’m off to watch more anime.  I’m on episode 18 of Kurokami.

(I got the name translation from this site: http://japanesetranslator.co.uk/your-name-in-japanese/)

*************************

And from this site: http://www.kanjizone.com/

My name:

ボニー In Katakana

菩仁 In Kanji  (Dubious…  I don’t think my name can be represented in kanji.)

ぼにー In Hiragana

bo-ni-i In Romaji

***************************

Here’s a website I found that’s pretty cool on this stuff:  Stockkanji.com.  And they brought up an interesting point, my name actually means “pretty” or “beautiful” and the kanji for that would probably be treated more as a word than a name…  That’s why I find the info from the site above dubious.

I just finished watching “Trinity Blood”…

….and I am totally in love with Father Abel Nightroad; wings, red eyes, thirst for vampire blood and all.

It’s a lot of useless crap I’m adding in my sidebar there, but IT’S FUN and right now, I need some fun…  Some silly useless fun.  Can’t play EQ2 while Max is home, but summer school starts back up next Tuesday, and regular school starts on August 25th.  I’ll be back in the game then.  ;)  For now though I’m coming to terms with Max’s new diagnoses and everything…  So, right now, since I’ve been worrying and reading up on everything most of the day I’m going to play around with silly widgets and watch some anime for a while…

Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the sidebar and check out that ninja? samurai? who will fight all the negative words on this page.  It is so cool!  I had to add that one…
