Funkis/Anulaibar

Funkis/Anulaibar: News

Funkis' music is very similar to my own music. It's very creepy and dark. Extremely cinematic. You might want to listen with the lights on...

All of the tracks are good, but my favorite is Dientus (and the Dientus (remix) version). And I was reminded a little of the Myst soundtrack when listening to iinedean. Very cool.

(The design of the site is really nice too... I like the photos and the background.)

Banco de Gaia

I also found Banco De Gaia at Emusic. There aren't very many free downloads available, but still, you can get a good idea of the sound of his music by what's there.

Brannan Lane

Brannan Lane - Download MP3 Music for Free - Download.com Music

I am really into ambient music. I was a downloader long before I was a musician. When I was just a downloader I downloaded a ton of Brannan Lane's music. I discovered him when I was a member of Emusic, but he also has free downloads in a few places on the internet. Check his work out if you haven't already. Very cool. He has albums for sale and other sites with free downloads as well.

Ugegi Aoiveae A Ser

If you like creepy dark ambient music that has a blackened edge to it, check this out:
http://ugegi-aoiveae-a-ser.atspace.com/

Similar to some of my own music actually, Orphic Endeavors. Also similar to the game soundtrack for Schizm.

Very nice music. Similar in style to Amethystium, or Delerium, and Enigma. Basically new age.

Atlantis Evolution

Atlantis Evolution
http://www.atlantisevolution.com/

This is actually a game site by The Adventure Company. I don't play many games, but this company makes nearly all the ones I do play. For the games they've made that I have played I have to say it's some of the most wonderful and memorable music I've ever heard. The soundtrack for the game "Beyond Atlantis" is so beautiful we all listen to it here at home almost daily. If you go to the "Atlantis Evolution" site and go to the downloads drop down list at the top of the screen, you will see a link to music. Click there and get all that they have available. It's truly beautiful.

Helge Krabye

Sorry it's been so long....

I'll try to keep this better updated.

Here's an artist I happen to really enjoy... Helge Krabye

Long tunes of varying new age/quiet themes. Very nice for a quiet day in the rain, like today. I'm listening to "Ancient City" at the moment, which actually has a litle rain in it!

Get the music here: http://helge.krabye.com/music.php

Erica

Piano music really bores me. Sorry. I grew up with piano music always playing in the house so really, to me, there's nothing outstanding about simple piano music unless the composition is just fantastic, so I was a little hesitant about Erica until I got to the song that translates in English to "Breath" (my favorite of the collection). I wish I could get Japanese characters to show here so I could show the real title of the tune. (I'll have to ask the Nucleus people about that.)

By the way, the title of one song translated to: "The sky which becomes cloudy and, the atmosphere which is clear". Isn't that pretty? Poetry in a title....

Anyway, check out Erica at Next Music.

I think I fixed the issue with language. Let's see.... The song I like so much by Erica is titled: "息吹", and the one with the title that translates so beautifully into poetry is "曇った空と、澄んだ大気".

Perfect. Yay!

Hiroaki

Beautiful and serene. The website says (roughly translated) "strolling around an ancient city is a hobby" and that's what you seem to feel as you listen. You feel you are transformed to a different quiet place wandering in the low white mist among ruins from another time. I found Hiroaki under "world music" at Next Music.

It's so hard to pick a favorite when all the tunes are so beautiful... I guess I will say "Inisie". ***SEE NOTE!

***Note! All of the Japanese artists have tracks named in Japanese characters. In order to translate them, I use Tsunami Online Text Translator.***

Kurage-Neko

This one really makes me wish I could figure out how to install Japanese characters in this blog. But anyway, the name translates in English to "Jellyfish Cat" which I just love, so around here I call them Jellyfish Cat and somehow the upbeat and fun name is very characteristic of the music. It's all very upbeat and happy. I found them on NEXT MUSIC of course. (Don't worry, I have been to other music sites... I just have a huge collection I just got from Next Music on my hard drive.)

My favorite tunes are "Yuwakashiki" and "Tabi-Nezumi" but really all of them are really good.

Necocat

I found Necocat after I found Panta Rhei in the game music section of NEXT MUSIC. I found "Dry Flower" very different and interesting so I went and downloaded everything else I could find.

My favorites are "Dry Flower" and "Emeraldres".

Panta Rhei

Panta Rhei is kind of mellow. A little like Snowbound but not quite as dramatic. Very good music. I liked just about all the songs I found. (I found Panta Rhei while wandering around in NEXT MUSIC.)

I like a lot of these, but I think my favorites are "Innocent" and "Neojapanesque" and "Zephyr".

Tokyo Kills Me

Quiet, nice, moody... Good for listening to when the house is quiet and the kids are finally asleep.

I found Tokyo Kills Me also on Next Music.

***Note: I forgot to put which I song I like best! I like "Divine".
